Anuradhapure

Anuradhapura is a city in north-central Sri Lanka, situated along the Aruvi Aru River. The old section of Anuradhapura, now preserved as an archaeological park and designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, contains well-preserved ruins of the ancient Sinhalese civilization. It was the first capital of Ceylon and an important Buddhist holy place, with a sacred bo tree grown from a cutting of the tree in India where Buddha achieved enlightenment.

Colombo

Situated in the western province of Sri Lanka, Colombo is the island's capital. Diverse and vibrant, the city is the administrative and economic center of the country. Colombo is Sri Lanka's largest city, home to around a million people is also one of the busiest ports in the South Asia.

Kandy

Kandy is a city in Sri Lanka that was the last capital of the ancient kings' era of Sri Lanka. It is situated in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is both an administrative and religious city and the capital of the Central Province. It is an important independent monarchy in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) at the end of the 15th century and the last Sinhalese kingdom to be subjugated by a colonial power. Kandy is home to one of Sri Lanka’s most important UNESCO heritage sites that includes Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.

trincomalee

Trincomalee is a town and port on Sri Lanka’s north-eastern coast. It is situated on a peninsula in Trincomalee Bay, one of the world’s finest natural harbours. Trincomalee was in early times a major settlement of Indo-Aryan immigrants. HMS Trincomalee is a Royal Navy Leda-class sailing frigate built shortly after the end of the Napoleonic Wars.
